The 4th International Marine Protected Areas Congress IMPAC 4 is concerned with minimizing carbon footprint emissions through a number of actions, thus contributing during the event.

IMPAC 4 pavilion will have a total of 31, 100% recyclable cardboard stands. Likewise, all of IMPAC 4 participants will be provided with a canteen to refill water as many times as needed, thus avoiding the use of plastic bottles.

Continuing with actions tending to protect the environment, IMPAC 4 has arranged that all graphics used in the Congress will be fabric-made, avoiding the use of PVC. In addition to this, all dissemination will be broadcasted via digital screens, suppressing the printed material.

Other initiatives that will be carried out under IMPAC 4 will be; the installation of Clean Points during the short film Facing the Sea, TriCiclos; the use of Chilean wood cutlery, donated by PEW Charitable Trusts; and the use of a cardboard lunch box for the participants of the 4th International Marine Protected Areas Congress.
